Review: ‘Containers For Cash’ Gold Coast, Australia

Ya know the feeling when you couldn’t be bothered working 30 minute for a quick $50 repair job, yet somehow ya have the energy to run around the yard like a clown looking for old cans and bottles to make 10c each from? Maybe not.

Ow anyway, it was a good excuse to go for a drive and see how the bush fire smoke is going. Darn Ashmore was real smokey and I couldn’t see the Gold Coast Hinterland.

Here’s my second trip to the Ashmore ‘Containers For Cash’. There’s a few of them around. I’ve only been to this one. I don’t think they’re all are the same . This one is next to the Ambulance station on Nerang Southport Road. (Gold Coast, Australia)

-after video update … Pub wanted too much for two napkins and a straw, and the crates wouldn’t fit on the Bubble’s roof … so I got  loaf of cheap Aldi bread instead.

Aarrh, living the life of the poor.

All that effort for $1.80? still free bread is good…
Im glad you didnt get it from Coles as today they have been caught in their evil ways ripping off dairy farmers YET AGAIN!!!!

  2. I was about to hang shit on Coles for their bread being more than a long adventurous drive for 1.80. Poop, just checked their site … starts from 1.30 per loaf. I could have grabbed two Chupa Chups as well. Carpark to bread aisle is too far to walk and yeah, they ripped off dairy farmers yet again. So much for being Aussie’s. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7757575/Coles-forced-pay-millions-Australian-farmers.html

and by the way no I dont know that feeling – I would drag it out for an hour and charge $80

    1. I bet you would. But I find only 80 hard to believe. 🙄

        plus gst of course

  4. I’m surprised you haven’t opened a can and bottle collection centre at that old battery collection site. You could take the naive public for a ride at 5c a piece. 😛

No I dont like the smell of stale beer cans and bottles
How does the owner of the recycle centre make any money? He paid millions to purchase the old RACQ building to pay us 10c each for cans and bottles, then he sells them all for 10c each again?
I have a couple good bubble batteries for sale at $25 each if you need 1

Just charged another 1 600cca but on load test (I have same load tester as yours) found it drops to 6 volts. I cant get $40 for this 1 – shame as its not even 18 months old 🙁

          1. Hahaha taking old Cooties tester advice now. Last time you were bragging how well a metal spanner across the pos-neg terminals worked. 😛

Yes that is correct. A big spanner across the battery terminals for 10 seconds then read the temperature of the spanner. Divide that figure by the CCA rating of the battery, add pi and it will give you the remaining amp power
But for $20 odd a proper load tester is a bit easier and looks more professional in front of the customer
